A green new year!

What better time to start a blog than on the first week of 2021?! Yes, it seems cliché, but I feel like the new year is a chance to wipe the slate clean and do everything I said I would do last year. Granted this past year has been pretty awful. While some were using the extra time at home to become Tik Tok famous, or to write the next great American novel, I was moving slowly from my bed to our half couch (delivery delays + a fractured rib, I'll share that story in another post) each day, feeling existential and wondering what is truly important. There were fleeting moments I wanted to use that literal down time to start a blog, but when disaster and tragedy strike, everything else feels irrelevant. Who really cares about my favorite brand of aluminum free deodorant when our frontline workers don't have enough PPE?But the reality is, for most of us, life has continued on, albeit strangely, with masks and social distancing. So given that capitalism is still thriving, and people are still buying essential things like toilet paper, laundry detergent, and even deodorant, I might as well use my BA in English to write this blog about how to be an educated, eco-conscious consumer.So...what does that mean? Stay tuned for my next post!

xx
